Welcome to the world of Fade to Grey, the incredible fiction smash that's taking the plague to new levels.
Are you tired of the same old stories that make you wish the zombies would just eat everybody and be done with it? Sick of reading a dozen pages only to learn that the hero is ANOTHER former Navy SEAL/Green Beret/Delta Force clone? Are you fed up with plots that don't make sense, or characters that are so one dimensional they make you want to go back to reading about sparkly vampires?
If so, you've come to the right place . . . the world of Fade to Grey.

“I started this on a Friday after work, figuring I would read it over the next week or so. MISTAKE!
I ended up finishing it about 7am on Saturday, having stayed up to continue reading. This is
one of those rare books that have the perfect combination of readability and interest generating
story line. It's not rocket science and won't bury you in long-winded rants or techno-babble, but
each chapter builds upon the last one. Great character design too- I won’t give away anything here,
but wait until you meet Max. People of the world, you need to read Fade to Grey. Now!

“I found this as a recommended new title based on my previous Ebook choices, and damn, what
a ride! It starts off typically slow and easy, but then quickly pulls you in with a rapidly crumbling situation. What I was most impressed with is that the characters all seem to act like I think a
person truly would in these circumstances. There is enough background to make you feel like
you’re part of the story, like you are standing right there next to the characters. And the
encounters with the “enemies” are not over-hyped with 30 pages of shooting-up the infected
followed by 1 page of story line. Very nice balance.

"This is incredible! Why is this just coming out NOW??? Why is this not a movie yet? Why did you
wait so long to share this gem? WOW, all I can say is this is the book I've been waiting for!
The good: Overall this is a totally absorbing novel. I loved that the characters were real world
people, not supermen. Their dialog is, "gasp," believable, and, "gasp-gasp," relevant and
enjoyable. Excellent character build-up Mr. Stewart.
The combat: The author has great descriptions and a flair for "edge of your seat" page
turning encounters, all without losing the sense of reality.
The plot: No spoilers here, but it's one of the most realistic you'll find in any zombie/infection
scenario, and the suspense of what is really going on is obviously carried over to book 2.
The length: This is NOT a 70 page "story" that you pay full price for only to get suckered in to
having to buy the other "chapters" for the same price to continue the story. We're talking
over 500 pages of top notch writing here. (well, speaking, since the author "wrote it" using
voice recognition software- read his notes in the book on that)
The surprises: OK, I'm not going to give away any spoilers here, but the infected are "not
your mama's regular zombie."
The ending: Holy crap, I wanted to call up the author and beg him to send me more of book 2
the moment I had finished. (there is a short teaser of book 2 at the end of Fade to Grey)
The bad: All I can think of is the wait for the next book.
So, do yourself a favor and get this book. As of now, I think it's only available on Kindle and Nook,
but even if you don't have one of those, you can download a free reader app for PC and
Mac/Ipod etc. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Dave Merrick, Sunrise, Fl."
“I love the fact you are making it more complex than a standard zombie story. There are always
good twists in the chapters, and that leaves people wanting more - wanting to know what is
happening. Like other posters said above, you really are a good, solid author.”
“I think you don't understand how talented you are sir.”
“Nothing kickstarts a story like a dead, zombie stripper!”
“I have a Zombie Fiction addiction and have read everything from JL Bourne to Adrian's Undead
Diary and many in between. Your story is up there with the best of them and I can say that I
am enjoying it even more than the Day to Day Armageddon books. Good job, can't wait until the
next entry. -Officially Tagged!”
"Great read.....great story! I can't believe this is the author's first book! Some notes for those of
you who found this website. I learned about Fade to Grey (FTG) from a friend of mine who found
a couple of chapters posted online in a fiction forum. The author posted I think about a dozen
rough draft chapters over a few months before stopping to work on redoing and publishing the
book. Some of the comments I've read here are from that forum, and they are spot on. FTG is probably the best all around zombiepocalypse book I've ever read. And I've read a lot. Don't
yank my man card here, but this book had me laughing at points, and desperately trying to hold
my bladder for another 5 minutes to find out what happens on the next page at other points.
This book has it all- intense story line and intelligent, well thought out characters that you can
relate to. I can't wait for book 2 to come out!

“In a word..............................................AWESOME.”
"Mr. Stewart, I just wanted to inform you that your story, Fade to Grey, is without a doubt, the
most enjoyable and intense page turner I've read on my Kindle so far."
“Excellent entries. This is definitely the zombie story for the outdoorsman.”
“Fantastic chapters! I am really enjoying this story, thank you!”
“VERY good character buildup! The way you are introducing folks and providing info about
them through their actions and what they talk about has been great. You really are presenting
the perfect amount of info for all of us to get mental pictures of what they people look like and
what kind of people they are.”
“Again, a few great chapters and good character development.
You are a gifted writer. Thanks for sharing with us.”
“I have been waiting all week to read the updates! This is easily one of the best stories I have
read on here…”
“I swore I would wait until 4 chapters were posted to continue reading. I didn't make it.”
“Just started reading these...gotta say for a non-writer, you write pretty damn good. Well
just had to say that, back to chapter 3. ETA Ok just finished chapter 10...wow, I cannot put
these down! Well back to reading.”
“Whoa, very, very good.”
"You want a good book, don't buy this. You want a GREAT book, then buy this. Five stars."
“I liked the chapters from that perspective, a change of pace and some insight into the
characters - well done!“
“Just finished reading it after starting last night. Excellent, really top notch. Kudos for not having
any of the various characters call the zombies 'Zeds' and thank god none of the characters are
zombie or horror-movie fanatics. Very refreshing and your writing style is quick and enjoyable.
Now write faster !!!”
“Most excellent, I look forward to more of your writing.”
Hey, I just wanted to tell you that Fade to Grey is one of the best books I've read in a
long time. PLEASE hurry up and release book 2 of the trilogy!
“Well...........I went shooting today with a friend from out of state and had a ball…enough of the pleasantries…where is the next chapter!”
“Great story! When I finish a chapter I can't help but think about how you have written
everything with voice recognition software. Pretty amazing! I signed up for the forums just to
subscribe to your story. Looking forward to more.”
“Another great chapter. I would continue writing the way you have been. This is your story and
your writing style, don’t change it to keep a few happy. Your descriptive and captivating style is
what had attracted so many readers and followers in the first place. Keep it up, and I to would
like to order a few copies of the book when it comes out. Thanks again.”
“YOU SUCK.... Me in with your wonderful wordcraft.
This story is seriously kicking ass. I can't wait (but I guess I have to) for more.”
“Must....sleep, b-b-but can't until....n-n-new chapter.”
Fade to Grey has it all……..Great plot, realistic characters, hot babes, tough enemies…. And Max! Awesome job!
“So much win.”
“Sir, you are now costing me sleep.”
“I have read a lot of reviews in the last five years- washing machines, cars, movies, and
even, for some reason I can’t recall presently, a review about a diet soda taste test. (I don’t
drink it, but I remember reading it…) I’ve got to say that I have never written a review before,
but my enjoyment of this book compels me to.
Most reviewers go with the good/bad or pro/con approach. Not me. Here we go. You open
Fade to Grey, it’s like getting on the last car of the roller coaster. You read chapters 1 & 2. The
coaster is “clicking” up the first hill. You read chapters 3-5. The coaster is still “clicking” higher,
and your gut begins to tense with what is coming. You realize, while reading chapters 6-8 that
there is no way off this ride, and the first crest is approaching. Slowly, the roller coaster begins
to creep over the top and the cars accelerate, thrusting your gut into your throat. And then the
ride really takes off. Curves that slam you sideways, and loops and drops that make you wish
the ride would never end, all spaced out with enough moments of calm to build up to the next
section of track. That is what reading Fade to Grey is like.
The author has a way of luring you in with the story that seems to provoke your inner voice to
repeat “just one more chapter before bedtime” over and over again. This is not Hemmingway; it’s
not a glossy classic full of long, egg-headed words or boorish twenty page descriptions that could
have just as easily been said in two pages. What it is, is a refreshing, fast-paced story that has
a way of putting you right into the plot. By the time I finished reading, I felt like I knew the
characters- personally. Here is something else that I found amazing. I can search the text, (I’m
reading it as an Ebook) and nowhere in Fade to Grey will you find the “F” bomb dropped. There is
some cursing, not a lot, but it’s there, as well as some adult situations, but overall, it’s pretty
clean, and the author does it all without sacrificing the intensity of the story. I honestly find
it very refreshing that there is a book available where it’s not all filled with “F this and F that.”
So to conclude my first, and maybe only review, Fade to Grey is well worth your time. Read it,
and get ready for the ride! Catherine Hollis, Seattle, WA.”
